On Burenkov's extension operator preserving Sobolev–Morrey spaces on Lipschitz domains

We prove that Burenkov's extension operator preserves Sobolev spaces built on general Morrey spaces, including classical Morrey spaces. The analysis concerns bounded and unbounded open sets with Lipschitz boundaries in the n‐dimensional Euclidean space.     

Pseudo‐differential operators in a Gelfand–Shilov setting

We introduce some general classes of pseudodifferential operators with symbols admitting exponential type growth at infinity and we prove mapping properties for these operators on Gelfand–Shilov spaces. Moreover, we deduce composition and certain invariance properties of these classes.     

Characterizations of the boundedness of generalized fractional maximal functions and related operators in Orlicz spaces

Given and a Young function η, we consider the generalized fractional maximal operator defined by where the supremum is taken over every ball B contained in . In this article, we give necessary and sufficient Dini type conditions on the functions , and η such that is bounded from the Orlicz space into the Orlicz space . We also present a version of this result for open subsets of with finite measure. Both results generalize those contained in 6 and 14 when , respectively. As a consequence, we obtain a characterization of the functions involved in the boundedness of the higher order commutators of the fractional integral operator with BMO symbols. Moreover, we give sufficient conditions that guarantee the continuity in Orlicz spaces of a large class of fractional integral operators of convolution type with less regular kernels and their commutators, which are controlled by .     

Periodic Nonuniform Dynamical Sampling in ℓ2(ℤ) and Shift-Invariant Spaces

In this article, we mainly study the periodic nonuniform dynamical sampling in ?²(?) and shift-invariant spaces. We first provide a su?cient and necessary condition for c∈?²(?) which can be reconstructed by its spatial and temporal samples. Then we give a concrete example to show that the su?cient and necessary condition is feasible. Finally, we discuss the periodic nonuniform dynamic sampling problem in shift-invariant spaces.     

Hölder Continuity of the Saddle Point Set for Real-Valued Functions

This paper is concerned with Hölder continuity of the solution to a saddle point problem. Some new su?cient conditions for the uniqueness and Hölder continuity of the solution for a perturbed saddle point problem are established. Applications of the result on Hölder continuity of the solution for perturbed constrained optimization problems are presented under mild conditions. Examples are given to illustrate the obtained results.     

On the inheritance of the strongly π-extending property

In this article, we focus on modules with the property that every projection invariant submodule is essential in a fully invariant direct summand. In contrast to π-extending condition, it is shown that the former property is inherited by direct summands and Morita invariant. An application of our results yields that the endomorphism ring of a free module enjoys the property. Moreover, we characterize generalized triangular matrix rings with the aforementioned property and apply to somewhat special cases.     

Analysis of the mean squared derivative cost function

In this paper, we investigate the mean squared derivative cost functions that arise in various applications such as in motor control, biometrics and optimal transport theory. We provide qualitative properties, explicit analytical formulas and computational algorithms for the cost functions. We also perform numerical simulations to illustrate the analytical results. In addition, as a by‐product of our analysis, we obtain an explicit formula for the inverse of a Wronskian matrix that is of independent interest in linear algebra and differential equations theory. Tuning the properties of a black TiO2-Ag visible light photocatalyst produced by a rapid one-pot chemical reduction

A highly efficient black TiO₂-Ag photocatalytic nanocomposite, active under both UV and visible light illumination, was synthesized by decorating the surface of 25 nm TiO₂ particles with Ag nanoparticles. The material was obtained via a rapid, one-pot, simple (surfactant and complexing agent free) chemical reduction method using silver nitrate and formaldehyde as a metal salt and reducing agent, respectively. The nanocomposite shows an increase of over 800% in the rate of photocatalytic methylene blue dye degradation, compared to commercial unmodified TiO_2, under UV-VIS illumination. Unlike pure TiO₂, the nanocomposite exhibits visible light activation, with a corresponding drop in optical reflectance from 100% to less than 10%. The photocatalytic properties were shown to be strongly enhanced by post-reduction annealing heat treatments in air, which were observed to decrease, rather than coarsen, silver particle size, and increase particle distribution. This, accompanied by a variation in the silver surface oxidation states, appear to dramatically affect the photocatalytic efficiency under both UV and visible light. This highly active photocatalyst could have wide ranging applications in water and air pollution remediation and solar fuel production.
